The Javan rhino is another endangered animal in the world also known as nose horn. This rhino has a greyish brownish horn that is around twenty centimeters long. They use there horn to protect them and to help kill there food. Also the rhino has long sharp teeth that they use while fighting and can inflict deep wounds. These rhinos can live up to thirty to forty years in the wild. Since the rhino is a herbivore it eats things like plants and fruits. Lastly, the rhinos skin is layered like armor to protect the rhino from its prey.
Many things are causing the Javan rhino closer to extinction. One of them is the rhinos cant live long-term lives in there habitats. The habitat they live in is too small for a big population of them. Only a certain number of rhinos can grow in the areas because there not very big. Also their habitat is being destroyed and theres a loss of agricultural development. The last big reason why the rhinos population is decresing is poaching. Javan rhinos are being poached for their horns. In Asia the horns are being used for medcine to help pain and fevers. Helping fevers and pains is a good thing, but not if it involves killing an endangered species.
There are many things being done to help save the Javan rhino. The rhinos habitat has been saved by the governmet, so people cant do anything to harm there habitats. Save The Rhinos International foundation is allowing people to donate to the cause of saving the rhinos. Also the SOS is doing everything possible they can do to help. Lastly, many conservation activities are being held to help the Javan rhino in the fields and there habitat.
